Important announcement: Open Day cancelled
We’re heartbroken to share that due to a confirmed outbreak of Streptococcus zooepidemicus (Strep Zoo), we’ve had to make the incredibly difficult decision to cancel our Open Day on Saturday 9th August 2025.
This decision hasn’t been taken lightly but the health and safety of our horses, visitors, and team must come first. Following veterinary advice, the entire HorseWorld site is now on lockdown.
If you’ve already purchased Open Day tickets, refund details will be issued directly via Ticket Source within the next 24 hours.
Cancelling our biggest fundraising event is a devastating blow. Our goal was to raise £20,000 to help care for the horses over summer and into the tough winter months.
Right now, our charity is facing enormous pressure:
🍼 A rise in abandoned mares and foals
🌱 Lack of grass and rising feed costs due to the dry weather
💉 Extra veterinary bills (antibiotics alone will cost £100 per affected horse!)
We’ve launched an urgent fundraising appeal, and we would be so grateful for your support.
👉 If you can, please:
•Donate to our 'HorseWorld in Lockdown' appeal
•Sponsor one of our rescued horses or donkeys
•Share our appeal to help spread the word
Thank you for your understanding and continued support during this very difficult time.
