Pearl's Story

Pearl's rescue...

Pearl was collected from the Welsh Pony Rescue and Rehoming Charitable Trust in 2019, arriving alongside Sian, Chiff Chaff, and her mother Queenie. Their previous owner had sadly passed away, and with no one left to care for them, the little herd had been left to fend for themselves in a field for many years. During that time, they received no handling or human interaction, which naturally left them nervous, unsure, and wary of people. For ponies who had known only distance and uncertainty, learning to trust again was never going to be a quick process.

Pearl herself was still very young (under a year old) when she first came into our care. With the safety and stability of our herd, she was given the space she needed to settle, grow, and mature alongside other youngsters. Over time, her playful spirit and curiosity began to shine through.

The  next steps...

Once she was ready, Pearl was introduced to a carefully tailored training plan designed specifically for her. This gentle, step-by-step approach focused on building her confidence, encouraging her to explore new experiences, and showing her that people could be kind, patient, and trustworthy. Being rescued as a youngster made it easier for her to adapt to this new way of life, and she gradually began to embrace the world beyond the field she had known.

As she progressed through her training, Pearl’s personality began to shine. She blossomed into a sweet yet spirited little mare, full of energy, curiosity, and a touch of sass. Her natural intelligence and eagerness to learn revealed her immense potential as a project pony. By 2022, having completed her training and settled into her confident new self, HorseWorld began searching for a suitable forever home for her. Following a successful home check, Pearl was finally ready to embark on the next exciting chapter of her life.

Thriving in her  forever home...

Rehomer, Rachael says: “Pearl was our second pony that we've rehomed from HorseWorld, the first being a cheeky Shetland called Jake. When I saw Pearl looking for a home on the HorseWorld Facebook page, I instantly fell in love with her. We went to visit her and knew straight away she was special. She came to us as an unbacked 4 year old and she has taken to ridden life like a duck to water, always so eager to please but not afraid to express her opinion! We're taking it slowly with her but she's proving to be a fantastic Pony Club pony for my daughter - taking everything in her stride. We are very excited for her future!”
