Meet Wizzle

Wizzle came to HorseWorld in 2024 after the sudden loss of her equine companion and a change in her owners circumstances. This sweet Shetland came from a very loving home, is incredibly friendly and loves to spend time with people. She had suffered from chronic laminitis so needed a period of physical rehabilitation with correctional shoeing and extensive box rest for the first few months. Wizzle has recovered really well and lives out on our Shetland track system without the need for shoes, so she is now ready to find a new loving home that can offer her a similar set up.

As Wizzle has been diagnosed with EMS and Cushings she is on one prascend tablet a day, she is happy to eat this in a small feed (currently Topspec anti-lam), her new home would need to be prepared to take on the cost of her daily medication and have an understanding of these conditions. Wizzle's health is also managed by severely restricting her grass intake so it is important that a prospective home is experienced in managing a pony with these needs and can provide suitable housing that allows freedom to move and companionship. Due to her laminitic history and sensitive feet Wizzle cannot be walked frequently on concussive or stoney surfaces so she would need to primarily be a field companion and not be required to be moved in and out of her living area regularly.

Although she has challenging physical needs Wizzle is an absolute pleasure to be around, she is a character who is easy to fall in love with, she loves fuss, grooming and attention and is always well behaved for equine professional visits.
