Meet Rags

Rags arrived at HorseWorld in 2021 in a group of 15 cobs. She is a 12 year old, 12.2hh, piebald mare with lots of mane and feather. Rags was one of the most confident within the group and progressed well with her handling. She is now ready for a home as a non-ridden field companion.

She currently lives out 24/7, all year round. Rags cannot be exercised due to having navicular issues, so it is important that her grazing is managed to prevent excessive weight gain. In the summer, gentle exercise from hill grazing has been a great way to help manage her weight and keep her fit. In the winter months, Rags has had hay to supplement her grazing, but she has never needed hard feed. Rags is looking for a home that can provide restricted grazing as needed and continue with her weight management.

Rags has a sweet, easy going personality and enjoys fuss and attention from her grooms. She is good in a stable with equine company for short periods of time, but does not stable as part of her routine. An ideal home for Rags would be one where she could live out all the time. We believe a track system would be a good fit for her. Rags lives in a mixed herd and gets on well with other horses, but she can be flirty when in season.

Rags is a rewarding pony to work with and would make a great companion to another horse with similar turnout requirements to her. She is a lovely mare and deserves to find a loving new home.
