HorseWorld supports British Horse Society’s Autumn Health and Castration Clinic in South Wales

HorseWorld team members Meg, our Equine Welfare Advisor, and Emily, one of our Welfare Grooms represented HorseWorld at the British Horse Society’s first Health and Castration Clinic of the Autumn in South Wales.

The event brought together horse owners, veterinarians, and equine welfare charities and organisations to provide essential services and advice aimed at improving horse health and wellbeing.

The Health and Castration Clinics are designed to offer horse owners judgement-free guidance and practical support, helping them make responsible decisions about the care and management of their horses. Clinics like this are particularly important for tackling issues such as unwanted breeding, hoof health problems, and dental issues, ensuring horses lead healthy, happy lives.

A wide range of discounted services were available to attendees including castrations, dental checks, farrier trims, passport, microchipping and being on had to offer advice and support.

Meg and Emily spent the day engaging with horse owners and their animals, sharing their knowledge and learning from other equine welfare charities, veterinary professionals, and experienced volunteers. “It was wonderful to meet so many lovely horses and their owners,” said Meg. “These clinics are such an important opportunity to support owners in making the best choices for their equines.”

The clinics not only provide vital hands-on services but also play a key role in promoting responsible horse ownership. By offering practical advice alongside treatments, they empower owners to prevent neglect, reduce unwanted breeding, and make informed decisions about their horses’ care. These events also create a strong sense of community, connecting horse owners with experts and like-minded individuals who share a commitment to equine welfare.

Our participation supports our mission to champion equine welfare and education across the UK. By attending these clinics, the team can extend their support beyond HorseWorld, ensuring that more horses in the community benefit from expert care and advice.

As autumn progresses, we look forward to participating in future clinics and continuing to work alongside organisations like the British Horse Society to improve the lives of horses and ponies across the country.
