Meet Sox

Sox was rescued in 2013 as part of a large multi-agency rescue involving 21 horses who had been found abandoned on a plot of land. At the time of her arrival, Sox was heavily pregnant, unhandled and in urgent need of rest and specialist care. She was also incredibly overweight, placing her body under significant strain and meaning even gentle movement carried a risk of serious injury.

Just one month after arriving at HorseWorld, Sox gave birth to her daughter Ruby, who still lives alongside her here today. With time, patience and dedicated care, Sox has gone on to thrive and is now a valued member of our Discovery team, supporting vulnerable young people through equine-assisted learning. She has a very sweet, gentle personality and especially enjoys a good pamper session!
