Meet Kira
Kira is a sweet, gentle and kind old girl with a heart of gold. She came to HorseWorld in 2013 as part of a group of horses who were all underweight and suffering from rain scald. Although Kira was in the best condition of the group, she still needed time, care and good nutrition to fully regain her strength and health.
Once Kira was back to full health, she was assessed by both the training team and the chiropractor, who quickly recognised her calm nature and steady temperament. It was clear she would be perfectly suited to HorseWorld’s Discovery courses, where patience, kindness and trust are essential.
For the next 12 years, Kira became a much-loved and invaluable member of the Discovery team. With her gentle presence and forgiving nature, she helped change the lives of over 1,000 young people, offering them confidence, comfort and a safe space to learn and grow. Kira has a special way of making people feel at ease, and her quiet wisdom has left a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to work with her.
Now retired from Discovery, Kira is enjoying a well-earned slower pace of life, soaking up the care and affection she so richly deserves. She remains a very special part of the HorseWorld herd, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she has touched. You can read more about her retirement here.
