Meet Forest

Forest came to HorseWorld in 2022 as a foal at foot having been seized with his mum, Blossom, with help from the RSPCA. There was no food or water present at the rescue site and Blossom was underweight. Initially, Forest was very weak and had to have plastic slippers fitted to his hind feet to support him. However, he recovered well and is now a healthy rising 4 year old looking for a forever home.

Forest is 11.3hh and is a handsome piebald cob with blue eyes. He has done well with handling training at HorseWorld and also spent some time on a Foster Loan gaining valuable life experience. He is good to handle and gets on well with other horses. He can live in a mixed herd and could make a good companion to a ridden horse as with time he could be trained to be left alone. Forest is good to stable, though is not currently stabled as part of his daily routine. He can be prone to weight gain so would benefit from restricted grazing, though he has been known to break through electric fencing so would need to be kept in post and rail.

As Forest matures, it would be beneficial for him to go for in hand walks. He is currently living out 24/7 on varying terrain, with access to shelter in a medium sized herd. He doesn’t need to be rugged and only has supplementary hay in the winter months. He is a playful herd member so ideally on a new home his friend would be an active companion. Generally, he is a sweet and easy pony to handle but being a youngster would benefit from a confident and consistent handler to support him as he grows up.
