For nearly 75 years, HorseWorld has been a team of People helping Horses, helping People. We are dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of horses, and increasing their relevance to society. And we want to be continuing doing that for the next 75 years, so please help us shape that future by sharing your ideas for a Future HorseWorld.
Each year we take care of over 100 neglected or abandoned animals at HorseWorld with responsibility for a further 200 previously rescued horses now living in loan homes across the South West. Unfortunately more horses need our help, welfare reports rose by 93% in 2024, with more horses arriving after being given up by owners who could no longer cope.
Alongside this, our Discovery programme supports vulnerable children and young people who are struggling in education or with their emotional wellbeing. In the past two years alone, Discovery has reached almost 500 young people and delivered over 4,300 hours of teaching, helping them to build skills, confidence and brighter futures, but there are hundreds more needing our help.
As we look ahead to our centenary in 2052, we know demand for our work will continue to rise. More horses are in crisis, and more children are facing long waits for support with their learning and mental health. To meet this need, HorseWorld is exploring how we can expand our work to deliver our mission for decades to come.
