Meet Ruby

Ruby came to HorseWorld in 2025 after retiring early from the South Wales Police force due to developing arthritis. When planning her retirement, the Police chose HorseWorld as her forever home, knowing she would enjoy life in a natural herd environment, receive expert care from our dedicated team, and be guaranteed a future where she would never be bred from. True to her breed, she has a gentle and willing nature, which is why she is currently in training for our Discovery programme, working with vulnerable young people and children. At an impressive 17hh, Ruby is the tallest horse on the farm, but her kind personality is what really makes her stand out. She’s an absolute joy to be around and loves attention from staff.

We’re so glad we could offer Ruby a home here at HorseWorld, and her journey is a wonderful nod to our roots of offering sanctuary to retired working horses. Although her retirement came much earlier than expected, she has settled beautifully into life at HorseWorld and is enjoying the chance to simply be a horse, surrounded by friends, freedom, and plenty of care. By sponsoring Ruby, you'll help provide her with everything she needs to enjoy a happy, healthy retirement while supporting the vital work she will do to inspire and support others.
