Meet Bertie

Bertie came to HorseWorld in 2023 as part of a seizure of a group of stallion Shetlands who had been left in a field for many years with little handling. When he arrived, he was very nervous of people and new environments, but his confidence has grown massively since then.

Bertie is a very cute, fluffy little character who loves a cuddle. His inquisitive personality has really started to shine through, and he now enjoys human interaction and spending time with people. He certainly has a big personality for a little pony and definitely thinks he is one of the big boys, as he refuses to live with the other Shetlands!

Bertie now works on our Discovery programme, helping vulnerable young people and children build their confidence alongside our other amazing Discovery horses.
