Meet Sunflower

Sunflower originally arrived at HorseWorld in 2023, sadly her previous home could not continue to keep her due to flooded conditions of the land. She took a while to settle in at HorseWorld, but with time became a sweet pony and a loving companion. Sunflower went on to be rehomed as a companion but sadly returned back to HorseWorld earlier this year, through no fault of her own. We are now looking to find her a forever home, where she can thrive with a 1 to 1 handler and consistent herd.

Sunflower is a 7 year old 13.3hh, light bay show pony type. She is a very pretty girl but overall her conformation is poor, so she is looking for a home as a non-ridden companion only. Sunflower is generally good to handle, but she has separation anxiety and does get unsettled in new environments. She is therefore looking for a quiet home where she will never be left without equine company, ideally in a herd of at least 3 horses. Sunflower has received regular physiotherapy sessions here and would benefit if she could continue with a physiotherapy plan on a home.

Sunflower is very good to stable so she could suit a home with a stabling routine, as long as she always has an equine friend with her. At HorseWorld she lives out 24/7, currently in a small herd of mares however she has lived in larger mixed herds too - she gets along well with other horses. Sunflower maintains her weight/condition well without any hard feed over the winter months. She can be rugged over the winter months if needed but overall does well living out 24/7 on varying terrain. Over the summer an element of restricted grazing is beneficial for her weight management.
