Rehome me: Maggie May
Maggie May was rescued back in 2004 when she was just 2 years old after being found wandering on a dual carriage way in very poor condition. Soon after her arrival at HorseWorld, Maggie gave birth to her handsome colt, Rooney. Maggie was in such an emaciated condition but thanks to the great work of our staff and the vets, she went on to make a full recovery.
Maggie was backed at HorseWorld and spent several years being ridden out on loan homes, but sadly received a hamstring injury which meant that she had to be retired from ridden work. She is now field sound and able to be rehomed as a companion.
Maggie is prone to laminitis so does require restricted grazing. She is happy to live out 24/7 or have a mixture of stabling and turnout as part of a routine with her companion. She gets on well with other horses and is happy to live with both mares and geldings.
Maggie does suffer from a dust allergy, meaning she must be on a dust-free bedding if stabled and receive either damped/soaked hay or haylage.
She is a very lovely mare that is good to handle and deserves to find her forever home.
