Rehome me: Lickity Split
Lickity Split is a beautiful thoroughbred x gelding. He arrived at HorseWorld as a foal at foot with his mum; they were part of a larger group of horses that had been seized after being illegally fly grazed. After a few years of growing up, Lickity began his ridden training and was successfully rehomed as a ridden horse. After spending a few years out on loan, Lickity returned to us in 2019 through no fault of his own and then joined our Discovery programme. He was a very valuable member of the team, and was much loved by the students he worked with. Unfortunately, Lickity suffered with some ongoing lameness issues whilst in work and so the decision was made to retire him. After veterinary assessments, Lickity has now been deemed ready to be rehomed as a non-ridden companion to live out a happy retirement.
Lickity is a very lovely boy that is great to handle. He gets on well with other horses although does like to be boss, and can live with both mares and geldings. Lickity is happiest spending most of his time in the field with his friends, although will stable overnight etc as part of a routine. He has had laminitis in the past and is prone to weight gain so requires his grazing and diet to be restricted and managed adequately. This horse has a lot of love to give and would make somebody a fantastic companion.
