Equine Support Volunteers

Our Equine Support volunteers work directly with the care of the horses on our Welfare Farm. Duties include mucking out, feeding and general animal husbandry. Volunteers must be over 15 years of age, reliable and willing to get stuck in whatever the weather! Most give a regular commitment of one day per week from 8am-5pm.
Vacancies with the horses are currently full, but please fill out an application form if you are interested in a regular volunteer role and we will get in touch when an opportunity arises.

How do I apply?

Work Experience

If you are a student interested in doing a weeks work experience at the end of year 10 or a longer placement as part of your college course we are happy to try and provide you with the experience you need, dependant on availability. Please call with the dates you would like to join us and we will see what we can do.

Community Placements

If you are an organisation interested in potential back-to-work placements for your clients we may be able to help you. We provide some opportunities for disadvantaged individuals to work with our equine or maintenance teams. Please get in touch with Frances on 01275 832425 for more information.

We pride ourselves in offering as many opportunities as possible for individuals to gain the experience and skills they need to pursue a career with horses.

However, please bear in mind that these opportunities are incredibly popular. We are a charity whose primary objective is the welfare of the animals leaving limited staff time for training and supervising students and placements.
