We are very grateful to all of our volunteers who give their valuable time and energy to helping with our work.
HorseWorld’s volunteers assist with specific activities and events such as our Open Day events, including preparing welcome packs, running stalls, making cakes and refreshments, greeting visitors and helping with car parking.
We also have regular volunteers assisting with our Discovery project and helping with the daily care of our horses, ponies and donkeys by carrying out day-to-day tasks including mucking out and paddock clearing.
Keynes Farm is home to around 100 horses and ponies, most of which are rescued from neglect and abuse, so unfortunately we are unable to have volunteers assisting with the training and rehabilitation work, as this is carried out by trained staff.
HorseWorld also provides placements for veterinary students based in the Bristol area with previous equine experience. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to be able to provide school and college work experience placements at this time.
If you are aged 18 and over and are interested in volunteering for us then please check out the opportunities below.
Can you handle horses with confidence? Do you have experience of supervising or working with vulnerable children and teenagers? We are seeking volunteers to support our Discovery courses in equine care and confidence-raising sessions for young people, normally between the ages of 6 and 19, with physical, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
