Height: 36 inches
Scruffy was rescued in the summer of 2017 as a 2 year old along with 6 other ponies. There was a recently castrated stallion as well as heavily pregnant mares and other youngsters. Although Scruffy was still so young herself blood tests confirmed that she was pregnant. At the beginning of March 2018 the staff were devastated to find Scruffy in labour and in distress - her foal had died inside her. Thankfully with swift treatment the HorseWorld team worked alongside our vet to save Scruffy's life. She is now recovering well.
Blood tests have shown this group of ponies to have some liver and muscle enzyme issues; which is believed to be a result of eating poisonous plants. The mares that aren’t pregnant or recently foaled will have a course of steroid treatments to help them recover.
