Breed: Pacer type
Jack was rescued in the summer of 2015 after being discovered wandering on the roads in the Avonmouth area. He had some extremely distressing injuries that pointed to him being treated very harshly while raced in harness. He had wounds inside his mouth from the bit and a deep wound under his tail from the crupper on the harness. He was also covered in new and old cuts and grazes that suggest he had fallen down on the roads. Despite all this Jack had a very sweet temperament and took well to all the veterinary care he needed.
Jack is now a happy and healthy youngster who enjoys being out in a big herd with other horses his age. Due to the harsh treatment and hard work he was put through at such a young age we are not yet sure whether he will physically be able to cope with the demands of being a riding horse. He continues to receive assessment and as he fully matures we will have a much clearer picture of what his physical capabilities will be. Either way he has a lovely temperament and gets on well with other horses so has great potential to find a loving home.
