Chance came in to HorseWorld’s care in the beginning of 2017 after his owner could no longer afford to care for him. He had a retained testicle so would need an expensive operation to be castrated – and as he was now two years old he had started to show aggressive stallion behaviour. This was exacerbated by the fact he had spent quite some time separated from other horses, also he had been hand fed which led to an ingrained habit of biting people.
Chance was castrated and then carefully introduced to bigger geldings that would help teach him how to be a horse and have manners. He has had the summer turned out with other horses and with little to no human interaction and has improved greatly. He will soon be starting a training programme to receive basic handling.
