TV’s Homes under the Hammer Presenter, Martin Roberts visits HorseWorld in the lead up to an exciting event coming to Bristol.

Horse rescue charity, HorseWorld recently welcomed a visit from BBC celebrity, Martin Roberts. The TV & Radio Property expert as seen in BBC’s ‘Homes under the Hammer’, journalist, author and Celebrity 'jungle' campmate 2016 visited the charity’s farm in Whitchurch Bristol to see HorseWorld’s unique Discovery Courses in the lead up to an exciting new health and wellbeing event he is hosting in Bristol which HorseWorld will be attending. On 13th and 14th October, Achieve will host its second annual Health, Wealth & Happiness event, this year in the centre of Bristol in the iconic Passenger Shed at Brunel's Old Station.

HorseWorld will be attending to raise awareness of their Discovery Courses and the benefit they can bring. Discovery boosts the confidence, emotional well-being and life-chances of disadvantaged and vulnerable young people and adults through an innovative learning programme that brings them together with gentle rescued horses. This learning programme has seen results when nothing else has worked for the individual or group.

Every year Discovery works with up to 200 children and young people who are at risk of exclusion and or experiencing life challenges due to their social, emotional, mental health and learning needs.

Being with horses is proven to reduce stress and promote calmness, concentration and empathy. The children are partnered with rescued horses and ponies and undertake carefully designed activities that engage them in learning and help them to realise what they can achieve. The range of skills that they can develop are transferable to many areas of their lives.

“We were delighted to welcome Martin, his wife and his two children to the charity’s busy working farm.” Said HorseWorld’s Managing Director, Mark Owen. “They enjoyed meeting the rescued horses as well as the staff and volunteers who work on the Discovery Courses. The children especially enjoyed meeting Lucky, a young Shetland pony foal born at HorseWorld earlier this year after pregnant mother was rescued.”

“We are excited to be attending Achieve’s health and wellbeing event along with a fantastic line-up of speakers.” Said HorseWorld’s Event Co-ordinator, Sofia Carosi. “As an animal lover himself, Martin has been very supportive of HorseWorld and we are grateful for the opportunity to showcase the charity’s work with rescued horses and vulnerable children.”

The line-up of speakers at Achieve’s event include comedian Helen Lederer, TV Chef Gregg Wallace Presenter of 'Eat Well For Less' & Co-Presenter of 'Master Chef', Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, TV Reality Star Calum Best, Welsh Rugby International Referee Nigel Owens MBE, ITV's "Love Your Garden" David Domoney and many industry leading specialists - hosted by Achieve founder, TV’s Martin Roberts.
