A Holistic and Wellbeing Fayre proved to be very popular with visitors and a fantastic attraction in Bath city centre earlier this month.
Lady Anara Durand, a supporter of animal rescue charity, HorseWorld organised the Valentines fundraising event with holistic therapists, psychics and craft stalls followed by a concert on Saturday 10 February 2018 at The Guildhall. Lady Durand is an author, professional therapist, reiki healer and teacher. She says that horses can respond very well to holistic methods of treatment and has found that using reiki and other forms of healing techniques can help a horse who has suffered trauma in the past such as those rescued by HorseWorld.
A wide range of workshops, demonstrations and healing sessions took place throughout the day and people came from far and wide to experience the array of different therapies available.
The evening concert featured ‘Liam ó Maonlaí’ of Hothouse Flowers who flew over from Dublin, Ireland especially for the event. Peruvian Musician ‘Inka’, Flamenco Artist ‘La Flamenquita’, Bath Opera, Senegalese multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter ‘Amadou Diagne’ also proved to be popular performers at the event. The Mayor of Bath, Councillor Ian Gilchrist attended the evening concert and met the performers.
“We would like to thank Lady Durand for all of the work she put into organising this event for HorseWorld.” Said HorseWorld’s Fundraising and Communications Manager, Stephen Poole. “A tremendous amount of effort was involved in the preparations and we are honoured to have been chosen as the benefiting charity.
“Our work depends on the generosity of the public and this event not only raised funds but helped to raise awareness of the charity’s rescue work all over Bath. Thank you also to all of the stallholders, musicians, volunteers and everybody who came and supported the event on the day.”
