HorseWorld Charity Open Day

Members of the public will have an exciting opportunity to visit HorseWorld’s busy rescue and rehabilitation yard, Keynes Farm which is not normally open to the public on Saturday 4th October, 10am till 4pm.

The Open Day in Whitchurch will enable visitors to meet the rescued horses and the grooms who are dedicated to caring for them. HorseWorld’s Equine Rescue Manager, Jerry Watkins explains “Many people donate to HorseWorld and would like to see how it has made a difference. This is a very special opportunity for you to see and hear first-hand how your support has helped HorseWorld to save the lives of neglected and mistreated horses, ponies and donkeys.
“The grooms will introduce you to some of the rescued animals and show you a display of previous rescue cases. This will give you an idea of some of the challenges the staff face when going on rescues and the specialist equipment needed to be able to effectively treat these animals. The animals on our adoption scheme will also be here to see and throughout the day, grooms will give talks about them. The trainers will be giving training demonstrations to show some of the rehabilitation work and the day ends with a walking tour of the farm. All activities except the walking tour are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
“We are simply asking for donations towards our on-going rescue and rehabilitation work rather than charging an entry fee as we would like anyone with an interest in the charity to be able to come and see for themselves the work that we do."
