Behind the scenes tour at HorseWorld

Members of the public will have a rare opportunity to see what goes on behind closed doors at a leading horse charity’s rehabilitation yard next month. HorseWorld, based at Whitchurch, Bristol is offering a tour of their welfare department on Saturday 16th or Sunday 17th August from 10am – 1pm.

‘Behind the Scenes’ Day gives people an opportunity to see at first hand the vital rehabilitation work peformed by the charity at a yard which is usually closed to the public as well as learn what the staff are faced with when they go out to rescue horses and then nurse them back to health.

“It’s a ‘must-do’ experience for horse lovers,” says Joanne Vaughan, Manager of Animal Husbandry at HorseWorld. “All those who come along get the chance to see our specialist facilities, meet the rescued horses and hear the stories behind their rescues, ask questions, and get an informed view of the scale of our organisation. People can also take part in a tractor safari tour on the 180 acre estate and a walking tour of the yard to see the facilities.

Tickets cost just £10. Booking is essential and you can reserve a place by calling 01275 832425. Due to the nature of our rescue work, this tour is not suitable for children under 12 years old. More information can be found at
