Meet Frodo

Frodo arrived at HorseWorld in 2021 and was estimated to be around 6-12months old at the time. He came from a group that had known nothing but neglect and abandonment and so it took time to begin building up their trust. Thankfully, Frodo was a friendly and confident boy, so took to his rehabilitation extremely well. He has made great progress and his character is starting to shine through. Frodo has passed his veterinary checks to be rehomed, but unfortunately has shown to have some neurological problems which means he will only ever be a non-ridden companion. His neurological problems effect his ability to react and process information, and alter his gait and proprioception of his limbs. As Frodo is still young and came to us so underdeveloped, there is the possibility that this may improve as he gets older and stronger, however this is not guaranteed, so he will need to be carefully monitored.

Frodo has a lovely, kind temperament and really is a sweetheart. He would make a great addition for somebody looking for a sweet, loving companion. Frodo returned to us from his loan home last year due to breaking through the electric fencing repeatedly so he will only be able to live in fields with post and rail fencing.

He is great to catch, groom etc. He can struggle with picking out his feet and for the farrier due to his neurological problems but as long as he is given time and is well balanced he is ok. Frodo is great with other horses and will happily live out 24/7 with mares and geldings. As he is still only young and quite a playful chap, we are looking for a home with horses of a similar age for him to have lots of fun with.
