Pennant has been reluctantly returned from his loan home because he has been outgrown. He was a much loved member of the family and his loaners felt he did a super job of teaching the children to ride. He is now available and would suit a family that would like to use him for a little bit of lead rein work and would be happy to keep him as a family pet once he is retired. Like most Shetlands Pennant has a massive personality and lets his likes and dislikes clearly known. This is the list he gave me! Likes: Children, love, cuddles & kisses, work and other horses Dislikes:Stables, being on his own, not being the centre of attention, standing still. The vet has advised Pennant is getting a little stiff in his older years, so it is important to take responsibility for the amount of work Pennant does as he would gladly do more than is good for him! Most senior horses need a little more care and attention and Pennant is no different. His front teeth are worn down so eating short grass can be difficult, but as with most Shetlands he is prone to laminitis so his weight and grazing have to be managed very carefully. Pennant is the kind of pony that always makes you smile and I would recommend him to any one who has the time to make him feel really special. |
