April came to HorseWorld in May 2004 having been abandoned at a livery yard. We have managed to piece together some of her history and understand she spent several years in her youth working hard and competing successfully. However there is a gap in her past from which she emerged with a scarred face and a clear dislike of being handled.

April spent over twelve months being retrained for a riding career however after much physical rehabilitation it became apparent that a problem in one of her hind legs was causing recurring discomfort in her back. As this problem cannot be resolved through treatment she was retired and is now completely field sound and happy.

She is a very sweet mare who has worked hard for people most of her life and was repaid by being mistreated. Due to this she is quite untrusting of strangers, however once she forms a bond with her trainer her sweet personality shines through. She thrives on one to one attention and is happiest with a consistent routine so she knows where she stands. April has earned the right to a quiet and relaxed life now to enable her to feel secure in her surroundings.

We are looking for a home for April where she can be a companion to another horse from which she won't be separated. She needs an experienced loaner as she can be highly strung at times.

April is looking forward to the happy future that she deserves so much.
