HorseWorld’s community projects benefit young offenders, people with special needs and recovering drug users. Horses do not judge and by providing work placements we aim to provide disadvantaged young people with training and mentoring; leading whenever possible to a new career or a return to education.
We work in partnership with a small number of other local organisations – such as Emmaus, Chandos House, Local Authority Offending teams and other groups.
These partner organisations refer people to us when they have already started treatment or rehabilitation, and provide the support and training required to kick-start their careers.
HorseWorld also works with a large number of other charities and statutory bodies in our work rescuing and rehoming equines, such as The International League for the Proctection of Horses.
We’ve even been called out by the Fire Brigade to help in animal rescues!
As well as "hands-on" work, we often advise other bodies on horse welfare and care issues.
We are also very privileged to work with a number of local schools and colleges – explaining how we operate and helping students’ knowledge of horses and their care.
Filton College has a permanent presence at HorseWorld, running courses in equine management.
